Fr. Chuck Weiss grew up in Penn Hills and Churchill, PA, and attended St. James Episcopal Church, Penn Hills.  He was active in parish and diocesan youth events.

He went to Calvary Camp in Conneaut, OH (a ministry of The Episcopal Diocese of Pittsburgh) for many summers, where he met lifelong friends, including his wife, Martha.  Their children, Cara and Max, followed in their footsteps as campers and staff members at Calvary Camp.

Fr. Chuck’s first work was as a family counselor at The Whale’s Tale (now Family Links) in Shadyside.  He was hired from there as the youth minister at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Mt. Lebanon.  During those summers, he and his wife served as directors at Calvary Camp.  While working there, Fr. Chuck was invited to explore ordained ministry.  He graduated from Virginia Seminary and has served parishes in Wilmington, DE; Canonsburg, PA; Dover, DE; and St. Edmund’s Academy in Squirrel Hill, PA.

After more than thirty years of parish, camp, and school ministry, Fr. Chuck retired in June 2023.  He and Martha are now the proudest grandparents in the world.  He continues to play tennis every week, and he hopes to someday publish a book about his life in the Church.  Fr. Chuck is thrilled to be serving as Interim Rector with the Christ Church, North Hills family!  Feel free to contact him with questions or comments about our faith community.
